Gracelynn Jo.
We welcomed our sweet Gracelynn Jo as the tiniest of our pack, weighing 8lbs 3 oz and measuring 20 1/2 inches long on Thursday, September 19 at 10:38 am.
Gracelynn- the name has roots that are "traced to the Latin gratus, meaning “grace” and “graceful.” Infused with the terms “effortless beauty,” “gracefulness,” “elegance,” “gratitude,” “forgiveness,” and more, Gracelynn is the epitome of soft-spoken charm."
Every single part of the name we chose reminded me of our sweet Grandmom and the pieces of her that we all adored and loved. It gave me such peace to know that the name we were giving her could be connected to Grandmom. We can only pray that these beautiful pieces of Grandmom are a part of our sweet girl's personality.
Jo- Jo(e) was Grandmom’s dad’s name with a special connection to her aunt Dee. I loved to spend time asking Grandmom about the names in our family as we were trying to decide on baby girls name. Jo was the only name I had talked with Grandmom about during one of our last visits as we talked about it being her dad's name and Dee's middle name.
When I changed the name of my blog from It Is What You Make It to With Grace Blog, I kept this hope around giving and receiving grace in all areas of my life. I prayed I could parent with grace, lead with grace, be a partner with grace, and be a friend with grace. It seems fitting that our special number 4 holds the name that has been my reminder for so long to live a life with grace above all things.
I pray that this is still true as we navigate the life of a family of 6 with our newest member of our very own girl squad.
